JAIPUR: A 20-year-old college girl was killed in a road accident when she was going to her college on a two-wheeler and was hit by a speeding roadways bus near Anand Bhawan in Jalupura police station area on Wednesday.Police has registered a case against the bus driver, who managed to escape from the spot.
Deceased Almas was going to Maharani College riding her Honda Activa (RJ14-SM-1531). When she reached near Anand Bhawan, a speeding roadways bus (RJ14-1P-2173), coming from Jalupura crossing, hit her vehicle. Almas was thrown away and sustained serious injuries on her head and other parts of the body. The bus driver ran away from the spot leaving the bus behind.
One Taj Mohammed, with the help of passers-by, rushed her to SMS Hospital where she was admitted to the emergency ward. But by the time her family members could reach there, she was declared dead by the doctors. Jalupura police has registered a case of negligent driving against the bus driver and are investigating.
The family members of the victim, who are in state of shock, said that she was very polite and well-behaved girl. They demanded action against the reckless drivers in the city who take the life of innocent ones.
Meanwhile, four persons were killed and ten others sustained injuries when a bus in which they were travelling dashed against a truck in Sikar district on Wednesday. The mishap occurred in the morning when the bus which was on its way to Churu from Gujarat collided head-on with the truck coming from Bikaner.
