Green envoy's mum confident son will come out clean

JAIPUR: Green traveller Andy Pag's mother Lilly Barile is a relieved woman. Sitting next to her son, she is confident her son will be cleared of all the charges levelled against him by Rajasthan Police.
"I am sure he will come out clean. There has been a mistake but it wasn't completely my son's fault. He brought the satellite phone into the country without any prior permission and should have complied with the law of the land. However, things should have been made clear and specific to him as soon as he entered the country with the satellite phone," said Lilly. She reached Jaipur on Sunday to be with her son, whose case will be heard in a Pushkar court on January 29.
She recalls how she insisted her adventurous son to buy a satellite phone so that she remained in touch with him.
"He crossed Sahara desert alone on a motorbike when he was 21. When one is on a trip like these, often one needs to have such instruments to stay connected. I was insisting he buys a satellite phone," said Lilly.
Lilly recalls how in her Istanbul home it was routine to look at Andy's blog and twitter twice or thrice a day.
