JAIPUR: Investment proposals worth Rs 4,000 crore were cleared at a pre-Board of Infrastructure Development and Investment (BIDI) meeting on
Thursday. The cleared proposals, which include a few pending ones, will now be sent to chief minister Ashok Gehlot for final approval.
According to sources, proposals worth Rs 4,000 crore were cleared during the meeting chaired by chief secretary T Srinivasan. The major ones which got the nod include the Jaguar Plant Limited, which is to come up in Bhiwadi. The state government is promoting Bhiwadi as a manufacturing hub.
The government also plans to develop Jaipur as an education hub. “In order to develop the state capital as a major education hub, memorandums would be signed with nearly 10 international universities,’’ said a senior official.
A cement factory has been approved for Kota and Nagaur each, while a stainless steel plant and a logistics park has been approved for Pali and Kishangarh, respectively. The Phase III of the extension of the Hindustan Zinc Limited in Udaipur, has also been given green signal.
The chief minister is expected to hold a meeting in the near future to give the final nod for the proposals before the state government presents the annual budget next month.
