JAIPUR: Seven persons were killed and three others were seriously injured when a train rammed their jeep at an unmanned level crossing near Rajgarh
in Churu district on Tuesday. According to the police, the incident occurred when the driver of the jeep tried to cross the tracks even when a train was approaching. The jeep got stuck on the tracks and broke down.
While five persons died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital. The dead were identified as Ramchandra Jat (60), his wife Veermati (50), Bhagchand (60), Krishna Devi (54), Krishan Singh (42), Baido Devi (62) and jeep driver Syodan Kumawat (35).
“All the deceased except the jeep driver were members of one family in Bilora village of Haryana,” said a police officer.
