BRAHMOS PROJECT TO BE SET-UP NEAR PILANI

Jaipur, January 15. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot was presented a model of Brahmos missile by Chief Controller, (Research) in Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), New Delhi Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai at Chief Minister's official residence at Civil Lines on Friday. Dr. Pillai paid gratitude to the state government from DRDO side for allotment of 80 hectare land near Pilani for Brahmos Missile Project.

Chief Minister was assured by Dr. Pillai that the project would start soon whiel briefing about Brahmos missile and the project to be set-up in Pilani. He informed that Rs. 200 crore would be invested in the project. Appointment of around 150 technical experts would be made for the project and the candidates from Rajasthan would be preferred. Dr. Pillai informed the Chief Minister that Brahmos is the fastest missile of the world and its speed is three times faster than the sound.

Brahmos missiles are being assembled currently in Hyderabad. The DRDO had requested to the state government to set-up the project near Pilani and the state government decided to allot land for it.

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Shreemat Pandey and Principal Secretary, Revenue Shri Ashok Sampatram were also present on this occasion
