Jodhpur the second largest state of the Rajasthan. the town was once known as Marwar, which means ' Land of Death'. It is an island of marble palaces from the desert by an immense wall, with eight gates facing different directions. Jodhpur famous for its magnificent fort and palaces. The city is situated at the edge of the Thar desert with Jaisalmer on its west, Bikaner on its north side. Jodhpur was found by Rajput chief Rao Jodha in 1459. the city was the erstwhile capital of the Marwar estate. A 10 km of long wall made of stone and built about a century after the city was founded, surrounds the old city. It has been drawing the attention of tourist from all over the world.
