Rajasthani Nehru Jacket
Normally ship within 11 to 15 calendar days at your doorsteps worldwide after getting your payment.
Rajasthani named for Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India, the jacket is a hip-length jacket with stand up collar and without lapels. Soon after coming on the pages of "Vogue" magazine, the Nehru jacket found its way onto a wide variety of personalities including the Beatles, Johnny Carson, Sammy Davis Jr., and the Beach Boys' Mike Love.
The present Nehru jacket came out of two fads: the ethnic awareness of the 1960s and the stark minimalism of the 'mod' look.
Fabric
We are using Terry wool as the fabric for Nehru jacket. It is a blend of 35% Merino wool and 65% polyester. It is the best fabric which you can use in summer as well as winter.
The Nehru Jacket was one element of Indian dress that penetrated western dress. Today this jacket is again getting attractions and is becoming symbol of those who are in power.
Traditional touch has been given to it by providing embroidery at neck, at breast pocket etc to make it look more beautiful. For this Hand embroidery, Machine Embroidery, Zardosi being applied to it. This is another reason why it has been more seen in marriages, parties etc.
This jacket is for all age groups. Also worn as an alternative to suit jacket.
As shown in photo this jacket is single breasted with no lapels having 5 to 6 buttons in fronts and with slightly fitted band collar or Chinese collar. What Mr. Nehru used to wear was a jacket with collar slightly open at front. Now a day’s modification has been done in it by closing at collar by hook to enhance its beauty. There is one breast pocket and two stomach pockets outside and with two pockets inside. This has one slit at back or two slit at side generally.
Nehru Jacket is also known as Jodhpuri Coat or Jodhpuri jacket or Nehru coat. A very famous royal Indian dress. This can be worn with a similar fabric and color pant making it a jodhpuri suit or with Breeches (special pants also known as jodhpurs). Nehru jackets is lined inside by polyester lining
