Excursion of Mount Abu

Achalgarh
Achalgarh situated around 11km from Mount abu offers superb views of the surroundings. an impressive fort with some beautiful jain temples enclosed within. Among the noteworthy temples are Mahadev Temple, Mandakini kun and sculpture of Parmar dharavarsh are situated close to Achaleswar Mahadev Temple. The Fort was built in the 14th century A.D. by Rana Kumbha and is approachable by a motorable road

Trevor's Tank
Named after the British engineer who constructed it, Trevor's Tank is delight for birdwatchers with densely wooded hills that are haven to pigeons, peacocks and patridges.

Guru Shikhar
Around 15 km away from the city this is the guru shikhar. the highest peak of the mount abu is also perhaps the beautiful. There is certain serenity about the temple built atop this peak. The Temple might just have steeped out of a fairy tale with only a small portion in pink jutting out of an otherwise plain white chalk building. . Inside is a shrine of Dattatreya, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu while outside, a little distance from its door, is a huge brass bell, which stands as a sentinel overlooking the lush greenness of Mount Abu. The view from Guru Shikhar, especially at dawn, is marvellous.
