Bhil family robbed, 3 women raped

JAIPUR: It was a nightmare for a Bhil family in Chittorgarh. A few miscreants not only robbed the family but also raped women at their house in Misru Ki Pipli under Chanderiya police station on Saturday. They took away Rs 28,000. Police suspect it to be the handiwork of Kalbeliya tribesmen. Teams have been formed to nab the culprits.
According to police, Sohan Lal Bhil (55), a labourer, was living with his family including son Kishan, two wives, brother-in-law Amba Lal and his wife at a farmhouse owned by former village headman Ladu Lal. On Saturday night, six robbers barged into the farm, caught hold of Sohan and Amba Lal, who were sleeping near the well and thrashed them. The miscreants tied the hands and legs of both of them and dumped them before overpowering Kishan, who was sleeping in the house along with his wives, police said.
Police said the miscreants knocked the door and as soon as Kishan’s wife Radha opened the door, three of them gagged her and took her to backside of the house and raped her. The other three caught hold of Kishan’s second wife and took turns on her. After raping them, the miscreants threatened them and demanded cash but when Amba Lal’s wife tried to resist them, she was also thrashed and raped, police said.
The miscreants took away Rs 28,000 and threatened the family of dire consequences if they reported the matter to police. In the morning, Sohan Lal reported the matter to police and a case was registered against unidentified persons.
Chanderiya police said the family of victims worked on the land of Ladu Lal and were living in the house constructed on the same land.
SP, Chittorgarh, Giriraj Lal Meena said police teams have been formed under additional SP and circle officers.
“Evidences have confirmed rape and police are looking into the matter. So far, we have interrogated 30 people and efforts are on to arrest the guilty persons at the earliest.”
