The style of Nehru suit has been copied everywhere but the actual cut which is obtained from the body measurement of oneself is possible at Jodhpur only, which is the place of its invention.
For this we are providing measurement chart, which should be filled properly while giving order. This suit can't be made readymade as it needs measurement of neck apart from other measurements. So if you are buying it as an readymade then you are giving the money for its look not for its fitting for which it is known.
International fondness for Nehru suit
It has traveled much wider and has proved more durable than its promoter, India's first prime minister Mr. J.L.Nehru . In 1960s , it stormed men's wardrobes. Thanks to star supporters like Johnny Carson and the Beatles who did this. It would have slid into oblivion in the latter part of the decade but due to appearance of Sean Connery in Jodhpuri suit jacket in Dr No it kept alive. Later in 1990s the dress swam back to future when comedian Mike Myers sported the Nehru Jacket as Austin Powers, the ultra-hip British agent through the same 007 route. Since then it became a retro resurrect- something the Mao jacket never succeeded in doing. British Prime Minister Tony Blair has gone to town in a Nehru Suit and former South African leader Nelson Mandela has professed his fondness for the cut.

Rajasthani Dhoti
The most ancient recorded Indian drape (excluding the Harrapa civilisation) is a dhoti. Although Buddha is shown wearing a large mantle, his lay followers, such as Ashoka and the men and women represented on the stupa of Bharhut, wore elaborately pleated dhotis. The dhoti, called Laacha in Punjabi, mundu in Malayalam, dhuti in Bangla, veshti in Tamil, pancha in Telugu, dhotar in Marathi and panche in Kannada, is the traditional garment of men's wear in India. It is a rectangular piece of unstitched cloth, usually around 5 yards long, wrapped about the waist and the legs, and knotted at the waist.
In northern India, the garment is worn with a Kurta on top, the combination known simply as "dhoti kurta", or a "dhuti Rajasthan" in India. In southern India, it is worn with an angavastram (another unstitched cloth draped over the shoulders) or else with a "chokka"(shirt) or "jubba"(a local version of kurta). The lungi is a similar piece of cloth worn in similar manner, though only on informal occasions.

Sports Of Rajasthan

Horse Polo
Polo is the most fascinating sport of elites in Rajasthan. A formidable horse polo playing family belongs to Jaipur, and the last Maharaja of the state also died with his spurs on, on a polo field. Polo is such an exciting sport that it excites even a spectator who knows a little about the game.
The Jaipurs were a formidable polo playing family, and the last maharaja of the state literally died with his spurs on, on a polo field. With the glamour of the game, they drew international publicity for India, and the sport has remained one of the most prominent in the elite social circuit. Along with Jaipur, there are also formidable polo teams in Jodhpur and Udaipur, while the 61st Cavalry, also based in Jaipur, has kept it alive in the army.
It is not possible to simply arrive and start playing polo, since the sport needs especially bred horses in large numbers. These are largely maintained by the players themselves, or with the help of their sponsors. You will therefore have to seek out an invitation to play, something you are best advised to do in advance. However, it is possible to send in a special request while planning your trip to Rajasthan, especially if you are a group with polo-playing members. This is important because, in season, when the game is played (September-March), the polo teams are often out (in Delhi, Calcutta or Mumbai) on the circuit, or may even be playing overseas. Of course, there is also the chance of having visiting teams in Rajasthan coinciding with the time of your visit. Even if you do not get the chance to play, there is every chance of being able to watch the sport as an observer which is almost as good as playing. There is something extremely satisfying about watching men on their horses as they pursue the ball with their sticks with skill and adroitness.

Football
Association football, commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players each. It is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world.
Football, known in the United States and Canada simply as football[1], is a competitive team sport known for its physical roughness despite being a highly strategic game. The object of the game is to score points by advancing the prolate spheroid ball into the opposing team's end zone. The ball can be advanced by carrying it (a running play) or by throwing it to a teammate (a passing play). Points can be scored in a variety of ways, including carrying the ball over the goal line, throwing the ball to another player past the goal line or kicking it through the goal posts on the opposing side. The winner is the team with the most points when the time expires and the last play ends.
Outside the United States and Canada, the sport is referred to as American football (or a translation thereof) to differentiate it from other football games. In Australia and New Zealand the game is known as Gridiron, although in America the word "gridiron" refers only to the playing field.
The Gallup Poll has shown football to be America's favorite sport every year since 1972, when football first overtook baseball in popularity. The percentage of Americans who say football is their favorite sport to watch (43%) is higher now than at any other time. Football's American TV viewership ratings far surpass those of other sports.[2] The day of the National Football League championship, the Super Bowl, is one of the biggest occasions for social gatherings in the U.S. and is sometimes referred to as an unofficial national holiday.[3]
The 32-team National Football League (NFL) is the only major professional American football league.
College football is also popular throughout North America. Four college football stadiums, The University of Michigan's Michigan Stadium, Penn State's Beaver Stadium, The University of Tennessee's Neyland Stadium and Ohio State's Ohio Stadium, seat more than 100,000 fans and almost always sell out. Even high school football games can attract more than 10,000 people in some areas. The weekly autumn ritual of college and high-school football—which includes marching bands, cheerleaders, homecoming, and parties (including the ubiquitous tailgate party)—is an important part of the culture in much of smalltown America. Football is generally the major source of revenue to the athletic programs of schools, public and private, in the United States. Some private Christian High Schools even play for 'national championships' with groups like the Federated Christian Athletic Association (FCAA).
It is a long-standing tradition in the United States (though not universally observed) that high school football games are played on Friday night, college games on Saturday, and professional games on Sunday, with one NFL game played on Monday night. In recent years, however, nationally televised Thursday night college games have become a weekly fixture on ESPN.
Certain fall and winter holidays—most notably Thanksgiving and New Year's Day—have traditional football games associated with them.
Football is played recreationally by amateur and youth teams (e.g., the Pop Warner little-league programs). There are also many "semi-pro" teams in leagues where the players are paid to play but at a small enough salary that they generally must also hold a full-time job.
Organized football is played almost exclusively by men and boys, although a few amateur and semi-professional women's leagues have begun play in recent years.

Kabaddi
Kabaddi is an Indian game which requires both power and skill for its play. It was known by various names in various places.
Kabaddi is an Asian team sport of indeterminate origin, played extensively in the Indian subcontinent and Japan with some variation. Although it is believed to be more than four thousand years old, it has yet to establish itself as an international sport, being confined as it has been mostly to Asia.
The sport is played between two teams of twelve players each. Seven players begin the game for each team, and five players act as reserves. The kabaddi court measures 12.50 meters by 10 meters, divided by a line into two halves.
Each team has to initiate moves of offense and defense alternately. The team who wins the toss sends into the opponents' area a "raider" who, while chanting "kabaddi-kabaddi" tries to touch any or all of the seven opponents. Those opponents who are touched by the raider are out of the game. The opponents try to capture the raider until the raider is out of breath and can no longer chant "kabaddi-kabaddi." Points are awarded on the basis of opponents touched or raiders captured. The team scoring the most points within the scheduled time (a total of forty minutes of playing time with a five-minute break) wins. Because of its low cost and rugged skills, kabaddi is a popular sport among the rural masses in Asia.

Camping
Summer is finally here! Before you head out for your summer vacation, why not take some time to share your camping experiences with other fellow campers and rate the campgrounds that you’ve visited this spring or in 2006
Camping is an outdoor recreational activity, in which the participants, known as campers, get away from civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or more nights at a campsite. Camping may involve the use of a tent, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all.
Camping as a recreational activity became popular in the early 20th century. Campers frequent national parks, other publicly owned natural areas, and privately owned campgrounds.
Camping describes a wide range of activities. Survivalist campers set off with little more than their boots, whereas recreational vehicle travelers arrive equipped with their own electricity, heat, and patio furniture. Camping may be an end unto itself, but often it is done in conjunction with other activities, such as hiking, swimming, and fishing. It may be combined with hiking either as backpacking or as a series of day hikes from a central location.
Definition
Some people vacation in permanent camps with cabins and other facilities (such as hunting camps or children's summer camps), but a stay at such a camp is usually not considered 'camping'. The term camping (or the slightly sarcastic camping out) may also be applied to those who live outdoors out of necessity (as in the case of the homeless) or for people waiting overnight in very long lines (queues). It does not, however, apply to cultures whose technology does not include sophisticated dwellings. Camping may be referred to colloquially as roughing it

Water Sports
Water sports may appear an alien concept in Rajasthan but the presence of large lakes has actually made the development of such sports possible.
The lakes of Rajasthan are known for water sports. During the 1982 Asian games, rowing competitions were held at Ramgarh lake near Jaipur. Ramgarh lake is a man-made reservoir around 4 kms. In length and 2 kms in width.
Throughout the year, water sports of all kinds can be arranged here. Facilities for swimming, boating etc. are available. Boating is a regular feature, conducted by trained Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation staff. A fully equipped tourist village with 10 huts is situated here.
Drive for about 10 kms from Alwar and you enter dreamland. The undulating hills flaming with bougainvillea and gulmohar cradle the majestic Siliserh Lake. A beautiful Palace Hotel which is run by RTDC provides all facilities.
Udaipur - the lake city of India, is also good for water sports with boating being a regular feature. The ideal place for water sports is Jaisamand Lake situated 50 kms south of Udiapur. This lake is the second largest artificial lake in Asia (the water spread area is 90 sq kms. ). Throughout the year, waler sports of all kinds can be arranged here.
The Chambal river offers the exhilaration of water rafting in the Kota region. From Jawahar Sagar to Dholpur, the intricate network of the Chambal river, flowing through rock gorges and forests, provides ideal locales for the perfect water adventure. While traversing the river by boat, one can see the gavia (crocodile)basking in the sun on river banks. Plans are underway to introduce a ferry service on the chambal river from Kota barrage upstream to Bhensordgarh - a fine opportunity to ride on the gushing waters. Rajasthan also offers angling sites. Bandh Baretha in Bharatpur, Siliserh and Jaisamand in Alwar, Mansarover near Sariska, Kukas, Chhaparwara and Ramgarh in Jaipur are an angler’s paradise. However, the enthusiasts are advised to carry their own equipment and obtain permission from the Fisheries Department. Patience and perseverance in angling , as in life, has rich rewards.

Golf
The first game of golf for which records survive was played at Bruntsfield Links, in Edinburgh, Scotland, in A.D. 1456, recorded in the archives of the Edinburgh Burgess Golfing Society, now The Royal Burgess Golfing Society.
Golf is a sport in which individual players or teams of players strike a ball into a hole using several types of clubs. Golf is one of the few ball games that does not use a fixed, standardised playing field or area; defined in the Rules of Golf as "playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules."
History
Golf is a very old game of which the exact origins are unclear. The origin of golf is open to debate as to being Chinese, Dutch or Scottish. However, the most accepted golf history theory is that this sport originated from Scotland in the 1100s.[3]
A game somewhat similar to golf was first mentioned in Dōngxuān Records, a Chinese book of 11th Century. It was also mentioned in February 26 in the year 1297 in the Netherlands in a city called Loenen aan de Vecht. Here the Dutch played a game with a stick and leather ball. Whoever hit the ball into a target several hundreds of meters away the most number of times, won.
However, modern golf is considered to be a Scottish invention,[4][5] as the game was mentioned in two 15th century laws prohibiting the playing of the game of gowf. Some scholars have suggested that this refers to another game which is more akin to modern shinty, hurling or field hockey than golf. A game of putting a small ball in a hole in the ground using clubs was played in 17th century Netherlands. The word golf derives from the Dutch kolf meaning stick, club or bat[6] (see: Kolven). Flourishing trade over the North Sea during the Middle Ages and early Modern Period led to much language interaction between Scots, Dutch, Flemish and other languages. There are reports of even earlier accounts of golf from continental Europe.[7]
The oldest playing golf course in the world is The Old Links at Musselburgh Racecourse. Evidence has shown that golf was played on Musselburgh Links in 1672 although Mary, Queen of Scots reputedly played there in 1567.
Golf courses have not always had eighteen holes. The St Andrews Links occupy a narrow strip of land along the sea. As early as the 15th century, golfers at St Andrews, in Fife, established a customary route through the undulating terrain, playing to holes whose locations were dictated by topography. The course that emerged featured eleven holes, laid out end to end from the clubhouse to the far end of the property. One played the holes out, turned around, and played the holes in, for a total of 22 holes. In 1764, several of the holes were deemed too short, and were therefore combined. The number was thereby reduced from 11 to nine, so that a complete round of the links comprised 18 holes.
The major changes in equipment since the 19th century have been better mowers, especially for the greens, better golf ball designs, using rubber and man-made materials since about 1900, and the introduction of the metal shaft beginning in the 1930s. Also in the 1930s the wooden golf tee was invented. In the 1970s the use of metal to replace wood heads began, and shafts made of graphite composite materials were introduced in the 1980s.

Newspapers and Media:
All the major dailies, and there are many in this country where the fourth estate is startlingly independent and strong, have local editions with at least one from every region and one on the net. Local editions of national dailies published from Jaipur and metro editions of English newspapers are available at newsstands and vendors who also sell weekly newsmagazines, filmagzines, women’s magazines and even international fashion glossies that now have an edition coming out of India.
Cable TV has reaped a rich harvest and the skyline blooms with endless numbers of dish antennae and these are only going to proliferate further. BBC World Service and CNN beam the latest news; ESPN and Star Sports keep you up to date with how your club is (or is not) thrashing its rivals in UEFA; and Star (elsewhere known as Sky) beams an entire stable of entertainment channels.
The widely accessible national channel too has some English programmes, and a daily English news segment. BBC World Service and Voice of America are on the MHz bandwidth but the frequency is variable.
Emergency numbers:
Police control room: 100, Fire station: 101, Ambulance: 101

The airport first began as a military airfield built by the Japanese occupying forces during World-War II. It is also known then as Jesselton Airfield. Towards the end of the war, it suffered severe bombings by Allied Forces until the surrender of the Japanese army in 1945.
After the war, the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) of North Borneo (now Sabah) took charge of the operations and maintenance of the airport. In 1957, the original grass strip runway was resurfaced with bitumen material and a new terminal was built. By 1959, the runway was extended to 1,593 metres long to enable the operation of Malaysia Airways Viscount aircrafts. In 1963, there was the re-enforcement and further expansion of the runway to 1,921 meters long to cater for Comet 4 operations. Commercial flights and passenger arrivals gradually increased and a larger terminal building was needed to accommodate this increase.
In 1969 a British consultancy firm was appointed to formulate a Master Plan for a phased and organised development of KKIA from 1970 until 2000 and years beyond. The master plan was submitted to the government with the following recommendations:
* To reinforce and expand the runway distance to 2,987 meters long to cater for Boeing Jet 707 and 747 operations.
* To build a new terminal complex and parallel taxiway which connects to the runway.
* To provide navigation equipments, communication facilities and a modern light system for the runway.
